Biography
Oscar Fleming was born in Santiago de Chile in 1979. His passion for the arts has had a deep influence on his life. Since he was a child, he has been involved in various art forms: dance, acting, music—to name a few. He also participated in theatrical performances in the company where his father worked. At that time he was drawn to theater. At the age of twelve, he auditioned for and won a spot on El Clan Infantil (The Child Clan), a well-known TV program in Chile. The program starred groups of children who acted and danced. Fleming worked as an actor on that known program for one year. At the same time, he attended the illustrious Rolando Valenzuela Theater Academy, where he was able to develop his talent on a more advanced level.
Also, at the age of twelve, he started writing stories, as children love to do. He shared his personal adventures with friends and acquaintances. When he turned fourteen, he became an independent, self-taught drummer. He later took formal classes in drumming, and he participates in music projects to this day. After a long time, in 2013 he decided to write again, but this time with something deeper and more interesting, with his passion for philosophy, critical thinking and poetry.
In 2000, Fleming went to another audition to be a host on the American of the MTV Latinos in Miami. He didn’t win the competition, but out of thousands of participants, he was among the top five finalists. The performance helped his self-confidence grow, which influenced his artistic choices.
In May of 2006, he decided to move to the United States to take part in a cultural exchange, trough in which he taught Spanish and interacted with people from all over the world.
From 2008 to 2010, he worked in New York as a correspondent for two important Chilean music magazines. He wrote about evening shows and interviewed musicians. All of this occurred in 2008 and 2010.
In 2013, he returned to writing, but this time he chose to delve into a deeper. His passion for exploring his thoughts and feelings about life. Thus, Thoughts of a New Dawn came to fruition.
